Get Ready for IgluWeb
IgluWeb is planned to launch for Local Housing Organizations in January 2027.
There will be time to prepare. Staff will receive information, training and support before they are expected to use the new system.
What Should I Do Now?
For most staff, there is no change to your day-to-day work yet.
For now:
continue using your current systems and processes unless you are told otherwise;
read IgluWeb Weekly and other project updates;
take part in testing or preparation activities if you are asked;
confirm your user and access information when requested;
ask questions if something is unclear; and
plan time to complete the training required for your role.
You do not need to learn IgluWeb on your own. Training and instructions will be provided before launch.
Make Sure Your Information Is Current
Good information will be important when NHC and LHOs begin using IgluWeb.
Staff may be asked to review or confirm information before launch. This could include information about:
users and system access;
staff roles and responsibilities; and
housing records needed for the new system.
If you are asked to review information, please complete the request by the date provided. This will help make the move to IgluWeb smoother.
Get Ready for Training
Training is planned for November and December 2026.
Training will be based on the work each person does. Not everyone will need the same training.
Before training:
watch for information about your training dates;
make time in your schedule to attend;
complete any preparation you are asked to do; and
bring your questions.
Training is intended to give staff the knowledge and practice they need before using IgluWeb in their work
Know What Is Changing — and What Is Not
Some of the tools and steps staff use to do their work will change.
The purpose is to make it easier for NHC and LHOs to work from accurate and current housing information and to support more consistent service.
IgluWeb does not replace local knowledge, relationships with tenants and applicants, or the role of LHOs in their communities.
Staff will receive more information before launch about
what will change for their role;
what will stay the same;
when they should stop using old processes;
when they should begin using IgluWeb; and
where to get help.
Ask Questions Early
A major system change can bring questions. Staff are encouraged to ask questions early rather than wait until training or launch.
You can:
speak with your manager or supervisor
connect with your local Change Champion
where one has been identified; oremail igluweb@nunavuthousing.ca.
Questions from staff help the project team identify where more information, training or support may be needed.
What Happens Next?
Between now and launch, NHC will continue to share information about testing, training, access, key dates and what staff need to do.
After IgluWeb launches, additional support will be available while staff become familiar with the new system and new ways of working.
